Alloy vs Carbon rims for eMTB

I have Mavic carbon rims on my Hiabike Xduro 10 downhill bike, they were fitted with tubless, but I struck a rock on a knarly decent and it caused a leak through the carbon which I couldnt fix so had to fit a tube. On the aluminim rims on my other bike they just take a bit of a dent but the...

Is it that hard to pedal after hitting the speed limit?

It does depend on the bike, I'm saying this from experience because I own three, a Vitus VR which is heavy but strong that has a lot of drag on a shimano E7000 65nm. A Hiabike downhill xduro 10, now that has terrible drag because the motor has a small front cogfitted so it is geared internally...

When you pass 50 . . . You are an old fart, so let's see your ride!

I agree, it’s the first upgrade I made to my Cannodale get the SX in the bin and fit a XT rear mech, XT chain and an XT 12 speed shifter so you can finger shift also rather than just a thumb push shifter from SRAM. The rest of it works very well I think!

VITUS eSommet with a Boxxer Front end Upgrade

Yes had to purchase the wider spacer for the base of the steer tube, it was a bit of a sod to fit but patience is key I just kept tapping it on with a large ring spanner until flush. Beware you will need a new front wheel or spindle as it’s a 20mm on the boxer forks so plan for that also, that...

    Vitus e somme e7000 ?

I've used the Shimano app to reconfigure what you get from eco and trail, I don't realy use boost anymore because the others are just great and give excellent battery life. We do lose out to the e8000 and the ep8 on power though as its only 65nm so get the best from it while balancing great...

    Show us your Vitus!

Here is my VITUS eSommet the basic model which was an online purchase from Chain Reaction Cycles £3500 Before and After: Obviously you can see the main upgrade on the front end, which gave me some extra ground clearance and an even more planted front end for those rough rocky decents.

Cannondale Moterra III with a XT 12 speed gear setup, I've nick named it the flying carpet, its my go anywhere bike its so good 18 months in.

Oh the nose on the seat, I hang the bikes on a climbing loop in my bike shack for when I’m cleaning servicing the chain and gears, I also have a yellow one on my Hiabike X10.0 to, it stops them slipping off the loop mid servicing.

I’m hoping to very soon, my ribs are just healing after hitting a tree at full pelt, fortunately the bike is unhurt but I’m in clip after a couple of days in A&E.
