Kenevo Gen1 Lost max power / performance with brand new motor replacement on Kenevo 2018

@Konk211 You're welcome mate! The update is super easy, any Spesh shop with ebikes will surely have the software and the connectors. The update is just clicking a button. Don't worry too much, the support of the Specialized shops around the world and Specialized itself is truly amazing. I know...

Kenevo Gen1 Lost max power / performance with brand new motor replacement on Kenevo 2018

Hi @Konk211, if the shop has the newest "Turbo Studio" Software, they should just connect and in the overview you will see that you have most current firmware (7.1.1). Then you just have to tell them that they should press "Upgrade firmware" (or sth in that direction, I saw only the german UI)...

Kenevo Gen1 Lost max power / performance with brand new motor replacement on Kenevo 2018

Just returned from the shop. Updated the motor with the same version, 2 batteries were not upgraded ( up to date) and went straight on the parking lot to give it a test with jammed on brakes. Got over 20.4A so it worked! Cheers everyone and especially @Specialized Rider Care for the great and...

Kenevo Gen1 Lost max power / performance with brand new motor replacement on Kenevo 2018

Tuned the assist and max power down and up again, always turning off and on in between. But same behaviour, the highest I got is 18A. Turbo on 100/100 doesn't nearly feel as strong and punchy as before. Even the 1.2 was noticably more aggressive. @Specialized Rider Care Forced updates of motor...

Kenevo Gen1 Lost max power / performance with brand new motor replacement on Kenevo 2018

Ok cheers @Specialized Rider Care for the fast response, just to make sure I do understand correctly: > Please retune your Mission Control support settings just to be sure With that you mean: change the assist and max power settings to sth below 100% and then up to 100% again or sth. else? >...

Kenevo Gen1 Lost max power / performance with brand new motor replacement on Kenevo 2018

Hi, just got my 2nd motor replacement (3 motors now in total) for my 2018 Kenevo last week. As I was out of warranty, I got a new 1.3 motor for less money from Specialized via my LBS. The new motor (C97272) has firmware 7.1.1, the motor before (also C97272) had 5.0.0. Rode it the last 3 days on...

    Power smashed through the roof

Hi, just got my 2nd motor replacement (3 motors now in total) for my 2018 Kenevo last week. As I was out of warranty, I got a new 1.3 motor for less money from Specialized. The new motor (C97272) has firmware 7.1.1, the motor before (also C97272) had 5.0.0. Rode it the last 3 days on very well...

Rear triangle low/main pivot bearing change on a Specialized Kenevo

I guess the outer ones wear out quicker though: closer to water, dirt and greater leverage amount from the swing arm. I could also imagine that they just put two in for the Levo, because of lighter weight and little bit less harsh DH oriented purpose. To be honest just putting 2 more bearings in...

Rear triangle low/main pivot bearing change on a Specialized Kenevo

Cheers, yes they are 4 15x24x5mm bearings. Will keep a bunch of them at home in the future. With my amount of riding/conditions it seems they even don't last 12 months.

Rear triangle low/main pivot bearing change on a Specialized Kenevo

Cheers Swan, ordered a bearing extractor and a press from Bearing Pro tools. 30 Euro together. Since these bearings are quite small for the load they take, I will change them every 8-9 months in the future, as the main pivot bolt is likely to break if you have too much play in these bearings...

Rear triangle low/main pivot bearing change on a Specialized Kenevo

Thank you very much Paul, good advice. I called a friend which has a generic bearing extractor. Was still quite a hassle as the bearing were rusted in, AND the Kenevo has 2 identical bearings side to side on each side, so 4 in total which was quite surprising after getting the first one out.

Rear triangle low/main pivot bearing change on a Specialized Kenevo

Hi, my low/main rear triangle pivot bearings on my 2018 Kenevo are worn out. I already have new bearings and now I am searching for some hints/idea/tutorial to change them. Help is greatly appreciated! Chris

    Kenevo - 2019 BoXXer RC DebonAir™ 29 DH upgrade

Ok, interesting, maybe it is really because of my boost 27.5 20x110 hub, as the brake calliper and pads for me really are perfectly aligned.

    Kenevo - 2019 BoXXer RC DebonAir™ 29 DH upgrade

Cheers! Also Andres, I checked the brake position today. It is perfect, in all directions. Did you see I have ordered a boost 27.5 20x110 wheel? Seems there is no difference to a 29 20x110 boost wheel in terms of brake position
