Yamaha PW-X2 or Bosch Gen 4 with new software upgrade?

No real issues here either. Been happy with bike and motor. Have noticed that I am running through the battery a lot more recently, but I think that is probably down to the cold and dragging nobbly tyres through endless mud. I agree with @HinduKush that the motor is powerful enough, unless one...

    Bar Mount Alternative ..Exposure Lights..

I have a similar problem, although I have got it a bit closer to the stem. They do a mount to go on the front of the stem; for instance: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/lighting-spares/exposure-stem-fit-light-bracket/ Just another £25! Don't know whether that would help you. The fitting looks to...

Yamaha PW-X2 switching itself off at idle...

I'm talking about the display unit where you control power levels, turn on/off etc. Same thing? I'm not sure it's my hand, I suspect part of my leg: when one opens a gate, the handlebars often move to one side or the other. If to the left, it would be easy to brush the unit with one's leg, and...

Yamaha PW-X2 switching itself off at idle...

It could easily be inadvertently pressing the off switch, which seems very sensitive. It happens to be (AllMtn2.0) quite often, usually when opening/closing gates.

    South Downs way

Forgot the climbing stat: 4954ft. I weigh a bit more than your mate. There wasn't a lot of charge left in the battery, since a 2-mile round trip to friends for a drink yesterday evening dropped it to the flashing, last bar.

    South Downs way

Just a follow-up. Yesterday, I rode from Winchester to Charlton Forest (about 43 miles with some detours) and finished with 20–30% battery (500 Wh). I was riding with my wife on her non-ebike, but she does a lot of road biking and likes hills! The first 15 miles or so from Winchester were easy...

Yamaha PW-X2 or Bosch Gen 4 with new software upgrade?

There are so many variables: weight, terrain, pedalling style, tyre pressure etc. so everyone is going to experience things differently. I'm happy anyway!

Yamaha PW-X2 or Bosch Gen 4 with new software upgrade?

13cm drop and frame size is 47cm. As to the power cadence issue. I am a low cadence pedaller, hence why I went for a Yamaha on the old bike. I have tried a higher cadence and there is no hint of a drop-off in power that I can feel, so sounds as if they have done what they say they have. My...

Yamaha PW-X2 or Bosch Gen 4 with new software upgrade?

I have had the same bike (All Mtn 2.0) since March and I am just a bit heavier than you. Been pleased with bike and motor. The motor is certainly more powerful than the previous 4-year old Yamaha I had, which was faultless in nearly four years. Like the older motor, I never seem to get any...

    South Downs way

I ride on and around the South Downs Way all the time, although never the extremities. Different bike (Haibike, Yamaha PW-X2 and 500 Wh battery) and I am large, but 30 miles is about maximum range for ME. That is adjusting assist levels a lot and being in ECO+ (the lowest) and ECO pretty much...

    Yamaha Auto Mode.

I used auto on my first ride on the bike (Haibike AllMtn 2.0 2020), just before lockdown. Thought "wow, this is easy". Then looked down at the display and you could practically see the battery level dropping as you watched! Since then I have ignored it. Having read this, I tried it again on a...

    GPS navigation

Have a look at OSMaps (OS Maps - online and App mapping system | Ordnance Survey Shop) from Ordnance Survey. It’s about £20 a year and gives you access to all OS maps (both scales). The route planning is very good. I plan and draw out a route on my desktop, which can then be opened on an app on...
