I’m pretty sure, like you say, it is a moulded part of the frame. From memory it looked like it was carbon fibre when I cleaned mine up? I certainly didn’t try to remove it. I have just replaced the bearing with a standard ZS44 bearing from a local supplier with no issues.
The best thing I have found to do is ring the UK office direct and speak to someone. I have had excellent customer service with a warranty issue recently. I also got a load of issues and questions answered that had been bugging me for a while.
Got a few pictures from Canyon of the block lock lower headset bearing on the 2020 Spectral ON for reference.
To replace the bearing you will need to drive the cup out of the frame (this is reusable) once out of the frame the bearing can be removed quite easily by banging on a smooth hard...
I tried to get a replacement 34T Canyon ON chainring direct from Canyon. I was told that it wasn’t possible?! I still can’t believe that they go to the trouble of making there own brand chainring and don’t allow you to buy a replacement? It’s a consumable part!!! Mines pretty much done at...
Does the Block lock and bearing separate or are they just one unit that needs to be replaced?? Would be interested in the Chris King replacement. What is the reference?.
By the way the bike looks excellent! Loving the 38’s with the orange fox stickers!! ?
Looks miles better than mine which is...
Has anyone tried to replace their headset bearings on the 2020 Spectral ON?.
Not sure how you remove the knock block that sits below the lower bearing race?? Any advice greatly received.
Also what are the bearing references. I think I’d better get those before I get the big hammer out!!!!
Got a 2020 Spectral ON CF8 a few weeks ago. Put my dimensions into the Canyon website (179cm tall with an 87cm inseam) and it came out at a medium!!! Went through all the geometry and was concerned about the reach and seat tube length so I opted for a large and it’s spot on for me. I still have...

Swappped the grips straight out for the Ergon GE1’s. Wanted my cockpit to be a similar to Strive as possible and I’ve been riding with these grips for years.
Only done about 50 miles but no issues. However, my brother got the same bike and has had the issue straight out of the box. It appears it could be a manufacturing tolerance issue and he is in contact with Canyon to try and resolve. From the video posted earlier they look to have tried to fix...
Been out for a full battery flattening ride today (35miles) and can honestly say I’ve never smiled as much in my life!!!!
Rides like a dream. Very quiet, no rattles and handles far better than I was expecting for an E bike. I’m a very happy customer! ?
