I have exactly the same problem with my Shimano 360 Wh battery on my Rise and have been caught out a couple of times. As the the battery range is as expected I assume it is just poor range reporting.
I've tried everything except wax over the years.
Worst by far - silicone (clogs your chain and hard to remove).
Harmless but mostly useless - wet/dry lube (clogs/washes off too easily respectively).
Best overall on a cleaned chain dried with a water dispersant - 3 in 1 Oil.
You are correct. I was having a brainfail, possibly. I'm already in lowest gear whenever I get off the bike to use walk assist, so hadn't tried it in higher gears.

Can anyone suggest a suitable charging door seal washer? I've seen similar washer seals used elsewhere but can't remember where. As these washers are held on only by friction, they tend to fall off when riding with the battery extender fitted. What a pity Orbea didn't think to add a few spares...
