Thread bump! I'm in almost same position - did you end up getting L / XL ?!
I'm 182cm tall (just under 6ft) with an 84cm inside leg (33").
Cube site suggests XL or L.
Local shop suggests L - but they only have L in stock!
I've sat on both and both seem ok to me - the XL does feel and look fair...

I should have said I'm in the UK but likes of Specialized, Giant and Trek are all popular here and on radar. I'd only go for one of the bigger brands in part as it feels like I can get support locally ok for it.
