I had around 250 miles on my bike and had never noticed the drag until I read about it here and tried to replicate the situation. I will try the "tricks" some have mentioned to prevent it in a few days.
For my riding, it is a total non-issue and the bike has exceeded my expectations. I cannot...
I am well aware of the psychosomatic aspect of turning the assist off...always makes me think I have a flat tire when I do it on level ground. However, what is being described is an actual added drag.
I had not experienced it before reading of it in this thread as I don't turn the assist off...
I finally got my EXe 9.8XT 2 days ago. I stripped the frame to install a Ride Wrap kit.
The chainring lock nut had the seal attached that slips over the ISIS crankarm shaft. After I finished I found a blue plastic sleeve in the TQ box that the charger came in.
My 9.8XT has all the spec'd...
I put my name on a EXe 9.8XT back in August with the expectation that it would be delivered in mid December. It's mid December and I want my Xmas present. Called the shop and Trek pushed it back to January.
I'm not a fan of supply chain issues.
I had to mount it in the end of the jaws rather than the top to get it to hold. I lightly greased the o-ring before putting it back together.
The o-ring is the only thing that makes the top cap snug and difficult to remove.
