What problem did you have? When I set up a Bontrager wheel, I found the oem magnet still required the use of the lock washer as a spacer.

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I had around 250 miles on my bike and had never noticed the drag until I read about it here and tried to replicate the situation. I will try the "tricks" some have mentioned to prevent it in a few days. For my riding, it is a total non-issue and the bike has exceeded my expectations. I cannot...

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I am well aware of the psychosomatic aspect of turning the assist off...always makes me think I have a flat tire when I do it on level ground. However, what is being described is an actual added drag. I had not experienced it before reading of it in this thread as I don't turn the assist off...

Fuel EXe Official Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I put my name on a EXe 9.8XT back in August with the expectation that it would be delivered in mid December. It's mid December and I want my Xmas present. Called the shop and Trek pushed it back to January. I'm not a fan of supply chain issues.

I had to mount it in the end of the jaws rather than the top to get it to hold. I lightly greased the o-ring before putting it back together. The o-ring is the only thing that makes the top cap snug and difficult to remove.

Photos of a Bontrager Line Pro wheel. Using soft jaws to remove the top cap... Wheel with top cap removed... Top cap with pointer touching the internal o-ring... Hope this helps.

Hello everyone. I'm a new forum member but have been reading it for several months. Put down a deposit on a Trek Fuel EXe 9.8 XT earlier this year and hope to finally get it in a few weeks. Until then, I will continue to ride my Fuel EX 9.8 on my small trail system at home. I live 15 minutes...
