One year later and still nothing. I can't believe it is that hard to put aM560 engine into a M620 housing with a 9-12 speed gear box. Pinion showed it is possible in an even more compact unit. Kindernay had a great system with their SWAP cages, but it sadly never took off and they went the way...

Interesting, I contacted Peter to inquire if the frame is actually still being sold. It pretty much is the perfect fat bike frame, I guess. No need for these M620 brutes for me.

Gotcha. I assume trail chatter was greatly minimised? Your reports about the M820 being lacking in configurability made me wonder if a M510 based gravel bike might be the more versatile choice.

The entire website of the bike vendor is now down, so I can't even find the bike anymore. Would still be curious if there are any decent M510/560/600 compatible hard-tail-frames for real fat tires.

I may be wrong about this, but given how much you can adjust the BB height via the flip chip, and there almost always is some extra leeway on top of that in both directions, before anything hits the frame (tire or linkage), I would be surprised if you couldn't overshock the SANN with a 230x65mm...
