I would have not suggested that if USB and the display isn’t mentioned. Without the USB, the controller is the only option.

You have to slam the battery in order for the locking tab(boss/stud) to click in place. You’ll hear a distinct click. That’s one of my issues with this frame, the retaining ends and caps are plastic, it’s hard to trust it. Notice the Velcro strap on the downtube? That’s my security net.
