Not as elegant a solution as what's planned however and require mor expense to have extra batteries and a range extender.
How can uyou do 900wh on the cuurent TQ system? I though 580wh was the biggest battery (740wh max w/ range extender)
The idea of a modular battery is super appealing to me. The possibility to run 300wh, 600wh or 900wh configs is ideal.
Any info on if there will be any fast charge capabilities?
If this is true I think it points to them trying to ration the 600wh and 800wh batteries for the markets that make them more money. I think Avinox have potentially shot themselves in the foot taking on so many brands at once. I think a lot of csuyomers will be frustrated with the long lead times...
Were these the images supplied to Specialized? The first image could easily be easily be looked at as crash damage given that the damaged area is filled with mud and dirt. I'm not saying it is or isn't but you are giving Specialized and easy out if these were the images presented.
The total system weights of what Avinox and Gobao have shown are only marginally heavier than current middrive motors + standard drivetrain so the weight argument doesn't really apply to emtbs.
What does it matter? Emtbs are completely different from motorbikes and cars. Just because eCVTs may not be the most useful thing for those applications doesn't mean it's it can't be a useful thing on an emtb.
It seems a very strange choice to me to spec a new forthcoming Shimano motor on the current platform only to move on completely with a new bike and motor a few months later.
My thoughts is that any update will probably come around the time the new motor is released. Most likely as "consolation" for recent buyers of the HPR60.
Without a derailleur it will be possible to use significantly stronger chains and in perfect alignment. Whatever issues around chain failures that currently exist with current drivetrains will most likely be a non issue on eCVT bikes.
