I love this. I have an Avinox m1 motor but I think they should cap max output at 750w and/or 100Nm and 4x assist. That’s plenty but it still remains a bike that needs significant human input.
I enjoy my m1 Avinox but never use boost or turbo. I would like to see torque capped at 85-100 Nm, assistance capped at 400% or less and max power capped at 750W. It would be best for all, I think. Short of putting the genie back in the bottle.
Velduros recently landed in my small town and with the M1 motor. Dealer and customers were not stoked. I’d say it’s incredibly irresponsible of Velduro to have sold and shipped M1 equipped bikes so close to the launch of the M2.
I’ve heard TQ has something very cool coming - a 90ish motor, still light and very compact fits the bill. Be great to see a counter to the Avinox stupidity.
So he bought the brand back, kept the name and IP and isn’t honouring warranties? Feels like there should be better protection for consumers. That seems like a scam. The IP (including trademarks) should die in bankruptcy. Call the new brand Pale or Pile.
The Forbidden’s geo just seems to work. Hard perhaps when you can’t demo but I’m 6’4” on their s4 Druid and enjoy the positioning. I’ve moved to a higher rise bar which i didn’t expect. I don’t feel cramped on it.
Just trying to track the new motors landing into Australia and wondering who's going to be first. I've checked a few but can't yet find anything in stock - checked Amflow, Commencal, Mondraker and Forbidden. Anyone know of anything available to buy now?
I think we’ll see sram transmission next year designed for e-bikes. Tighter range cassettes (10-45?), fewer gears, shorter derailleur cages and stronger chains.
I think we’ll also get at least one more mgu launch at sea otter next year.
I only buy my EVs used. I’m still getting smashed with depreciation but on the whole I’m pretty happy about it. The cars I’ve owned have been basically free to run out side of tires and cabin filters. Oh, and wipers.
One of these first images reminded me; back in the day, there would be a guy at Diablo Freeride hitting the drop near the bottom in a T-Rex costume for Halloween or closing day. He'd get the worst huck neck but always kept it together. It looked bloody hilarious...
