I have a garmin 1000 touring , nice big screen , battery life is very good , appping is good with a colour screen. It also has accident detection that will link to a phone and call your emergency contact if you crash , however you can set it off by going lairy down rocky descents

Bank holiday ride around the Ladybower classic loop, nearly 20 miles and 2500 ft of climbing. There seem to be more rocks in potato alley than I remember. The levo managed the trip on 2 bars and the additional small battery.

Todays ride over the moors from devils elbow car park managed to set off the collision detection going down the devils elbow descent

Ride out around the trials in Amber Valley, the first picture is the rock-a-bye tree from the nursery rhym.

To give you a idea how good the SL climbing , I went to cannock recently and did the full circuit. On the switchback climbs in trail mode I had no problem going up the climbs , passing none bikes with ease , I found turbo on the switchback bends a bit to powerful- this may be down to my skills...

Ride out to the southern Derbyshire trails around Belper , taking in the local classic descents.

Updated my old Derbyshire and the Peak District MTB guide to the current version ,that now has photos instead of the pen &ink drawings. Trip out to Ticknall with a diversion to the trails that the locals have built in Robins Wood and out to Anchor church caves.
