Last weekend I snapped a chain on my relatively new Rail 9.8. I changed up to a lower gear while starting an ascent and hitting a big root. The power down while chain was at such angle tore open the linkage. Lesson learned. Change gears before the hill.

Thanks all. The dealer forgot to give it to me. I picked up the valves and the sealant this morning. So will give it a go later this week. Just got back from another ride...I love this bike more each ride..

Very good point...re legality. Not sure I want to hurt someone and not be covered in an accident. Part of me thinks given my first eMTB i should just buy one from a manufacturer and have decent warranty etc... then look to build one myself later.
