Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I never used it but Ant+ is the protocol that allows for 3rd party integration. It allows you to see the bikes information on a Garmin for example. Enjoy the bike! I have the same model and have never experienced a more organic feeling eBike motor.

Yeti MTe vs Trek Fuel+ EX

I agree. The Fuel Exe is very much bullet proof for me! I have the 9.8XT with Rockshox suspension and I was very positively surprised. I prefer it over Fox factory which I have on my stumpy. All components are really solid. One thing I did was to remove the thick rim tape on the carbon wheels...

Yeti MTe vs Trek Fuel+ EX

I have the Trek Fuel Exe so not exactly the bike you are looking at but very close. I also have owned Yeti analog bikes in the past and this would indeed be a rough decision. Given that this is an eBike selection, I would consider support and service. In the US at least it is much easier getting...

Fuel EXe Tires hard to mount to Bontrager wheels

I think that is a good decision. I have been running regular tape now for a while without any issues and it’s so much easier to change tires. Initially when I replaced the tape and mounted the new Kryptotal tires, I had a slow leak but the tires were not seated correctly. Got the sidewalls back...

    Fuel EXe Fuel exe purchase

I found how to activate that center button mode: Using the Center Display (Requires App Setting) If you do not have the handlebar remote or it has failed, you can enable the "extended center button functionality" via the Trek Central app or the TQ app. To change power modes: With this...

    Fuel EXe Fuel exe purchase

I agree, it sounds like the handle bar remote is not working properly. There is a way to control it with the button on the display I think But I forgot how to activate it. it’s there in case the handle bar remote gets damaged. you could also try to change the modes on the app (either Trek or TQ...

    Fuel EXe Fuel exe reliability

I got my first Fuel Exe in October 2022. One of the early bikes in the US. Trek replaced the motor after a year and 1300 miles because of that grinding noise many had experienced. Because they found that the motor mounting brackets were not properly molded into the frame, they decided to replace...

    Fuel EXe Fuel exe purchase

I am 5’7 and have a medium 9.8XT (2022 model) which I think was the best bang for the buck. Love the rock shox suspension (better than fox factory on my analog bike). I think the medium would fit you well. Mine almost feels a bit long for me but of course longer is better on rougher stuff.

TQ Motor cost? Out of warranty

Mine is exactly the same at 2200 miles. It’s gotten much noisier under load And resistance when Turing wheel against the motor (backwards) seems to have increased.

    New TQ HPR Motor

I think it is still 250W nominal/constant. Even the full power bikes have that since it is the law I think.

    TQ HPR50 Grinding Noise

Not sure. My original grinding noise did not change much in the last 2 years. I am sure you are not having this issue, but once I had a rock stuck in the chain guard on my fuel EXE and it made a very nasty grinding noise. I first thought it came from the motor but was just a rock luckily. Good luck!

    TQ HPR50 Grinding Noise

Is the noise that is getting louder the same noise? In other words is it the clutch noise under minimal load that is getting louder or is the motor getting louder on higher loads? I have the latter happening. My bike has a first gen (very early) motor. It made the grinding noise under minimal...
