As an exe owner, the real deciding issue is the durabilities of both motors. Tq 30 has some serious issues with clutch/possible water intrusion of the right sided main bearing which according to reports does in the clutch(spragg). Whether the issue is resolved by the new version remains to be...
Bad news from here in USA. My spragg is in the process of failing. Brought to an authorized trek dealer in Sedona. All electronics pass inspection. But the spragg failure apparently is the common failure point. Bought it sept 2023 and was in the trek dealer in sac to make sure it wasn’t the...
I have three 8010 batts, one on extended loan and two in regular use. Approx 7k miles on the bike ( second motor at 5k). All the batts seem to work pretty well. Each capacity seems stable.
Yes until you get to 12 speed. 12 speed are interchangeable. If your derailleur is in good shape the cheapest way is to stick with 11 speed changing the front chainring ,cassette and chain. Second cheapest is 10 speed with a new shifter. The 11 speed derailleur will most likely function quite...
That’s a good question. I own several alternative 10 speed alternatives to
The ex1 set up on my 2019
Commencal meta power but ultimately bought an additional ex1 cassette ( $300 buckeroos). The alternatives are sitting in a box somewhere in my collection collecting dust. When push came to shove...
The sram ex1 is a 8 speed that uses 10 speed spacing and a spacer. They are very durable and very expensive if u can find one. The usual inexpensive way to go is to use a ten speed cassette, chain, derailier and shifter. The whole shebang is approx $200 if done right.
I have the exe 9.8 gx axs as well
As a COMMENCAL meta
Power. Any lower power bikes such as the exe ( tq 50 nm supposedly) work way way better with gx axs t type because it sifts perfectly under load so you can maintain a high rpm which the tq motor loves. I’m pretty sure it’s less important with...
I bought the 9.8 gx axs and I would only buy a “low” power ebike with a t type sram axs system because the shifts under extreme load is flawless. That lets you shift to bigger cog while climbing the most extreme steeps. In my COMMENCAL meta power shifts happen before the hill. But the exe allows...
i bought a second wheel set for my commencal meta power with a shimano e8000 motor. mounted with schwabe g force speed tires. i use it with a friend who has a 28 mph e bike. i didn’t do anything else so yes to max power to 18-20 mph. so that limits speed on flats. i use it in western marin and...
