Guess it depends on where you live, how friendly that place is to "especially" designed commuting (e)bikes. To me, commuting in Bucharest with a road/city bike is way more dangerous than doing it with a(n) (e)MTB. -Thare are no bike lanes on my itinerary but plenty of crazy/frustrated...

I understand what you described and I can say it's normal. Try it on eco (or lower peak power settings) you will see the said clunk is reduced. That's also the reason for Tero4X not doing the same as it has way lower peak power. It also depends on how quick you stop the pedals (crank rotation)...

I can help you with board repair/diagnose/unlock but in order for everything to work, you need to replace all the cells not just a single cell or a segment of cells. I can't figure out what is happening in your case. You said the cells in series have 3.8-3.9V but then again you said the output...
