Vocaroo only made some crunching noises like gravel, no whistling that I could hear. Ours was definitely the motor. We wanted to know the results but the deal was "replace and send back to Specialized, do not open the motor" so we never got any further information.

This is why I do my own work as much as possible. The shop may have more experience but I care about my bike more and will take as much time as needed to get it right. Anyway, glad you got it sorted out. :)

This is about torque. At any rpm above 62 we will not get the 50 NM because that would require more than 320 W.

Some mathematical reality: 50 NM at 320 W is 62 rpm. Faster than that and the NM drops off.

Newton meters is marketing, watts is power. ;)

One more: Specialized specifies the Levo motor as 250 W nominal (continuous), probably for several reasons. One may be to meet different European regulations for maximum continuous power; one may be because the motor housing can only shed that much heat in continuous running. I have not see...
