Really, you are a sprog.?? That was the Sturmey Archer hub gear change, for some reason they used to jump in 2nd gear and one would end up impaled on the handle.

Am I missing something here, are you all trying to charge your batteries to 80% and not 100%? At the risk of sounding an idiot, the way I understand it with Li-On batteries is, it is advisable to have 80% charge in a battery if it is going to be stored or unused for a period of time and not...

Mine have gone notchy too after only 100 miles of riding, seems the bearings are made of chocolate.

Bought mine from Rutland and am in the same position, drive 3 hours each way or pay my LBS or leave it, everything works fine.
