Before rebuild: How fast? After rebuild: Not gonna!

    Pic of the Day

They are creating ebike categories to run together with XCO style races over here. Last november, I made a mistake and had my battery end before the last 4 kilometers, wich happened to be a 20% 3km climb where I had to walk uphill for half an hour, triggering a knee pain plus a golfer's elbow...

    Choosing my first (cheap) e-MTB

I see the trend for light ebikes as the answer for your question... Buy a good used full power ebike for $3.000 from someone who's paying 10.000 on an light E I ride a spectralon 150mm mixed wheel and cube 170mm 27,5 f/r and believe that both could satisfy you.

Downhill Stance - What Foot Forward?

I keep switching front foot on the down hills so that when I hit a bump on a bend to either side its more natural to get some air and land safely. But, as a right hander, I often offer my left side in sacrifice whenever I hit the deck, so my left knee, ankle and elbow carry more scars and...

Bosch Flow App - News & Updates

On the "up" list, bosch kiox is very easy to pair with any third party heart monitor, much easier than a garmin device. On the "down", though, its a very long list of things that bosch fails to provide, on a very personal note, for example, their apps are NOT even available on many countries, so...

Bosch Flow App - News & Updates

I'm afraid this update only works on bosch systems that are 'smart', my 2023 cube stereo, for example, is not 'smart'.

    Shimano EP8 motored battery fire

First thing I thought of... look at those wires hanging from the wall behind the bikes, probably a damaged power cord that was being used there and short circuited. Besides, lots of flammables disposed all over the place. A very predictable disaster scene.

Shimano Battery Issue (refused warranty claim) where do i stand?

Measuring battery charge with the accuracy you desire is not possible, shimano gives a clue when they decide to use the five bar indication instead of a percentage. To know if a battery is not working properly it should be tested by dedicated precision workbench by a dealer. You may get...

    5 broken ribs!

Get well soon, mate. On my first bike trip to the USA, we arrived a little late at the North Star at Tahoe. That was after I picked up a brand new Santa Cruz nomad, so I resolved to give it a go... Three broken ribs, on the very first day of a two week long mountain biking trip that turned into...

Driving N to S across France/Spain Dieppe to Sierra Nevadas. EMTB locations along the way?

I did that in 2019, rode the Lourdes DH track and then, across the pirenees into Spain rode the Fiscal trails. Had a guided tour with a british guy who had just movef from South Africa to Fiscal and was starting a hostel business there. This trip ended in Barcelon, where you can find endless mtb...

We have a huge problem with ebikes

Well… standardisation unfortunately happens on a relation after a few decades. On the good side, the less you spend on bikes, more chances you have to get better sex.

Why Hasn't Canyon Produced an SL EMTB?

Neither has Cube, and my guess is that they have a more serious approach to ebiking, like, engineers have more voice than the marcketing. You can take any pf their bikes and set it up with a 360 battery, 34mm forks, 2.3 tyres and a light wheelset and you will have a 18 kilos bike.

    Eco sucks!

I concur. Use eco only to warm up and on the agonyzing moments when the battery is about to die.
