How are eMTBs 1/3 the price of a Tesla model 3?

Tesla will easily sell over 100,000 units yearly and cost things accordingly, now take say your emtb motor, even Bosch and Shimano aren't shipping that amount worldwide for emtb's. The unit cost shoots up, take in suspension and frames..and that's you answer. If you have a carbon frame, say...

Muddy rides. To wash or not to wash?

I use a garden hose after every muddy ride (or a garden pressure pump if I've used the car), keeping the water away from the headset/bars/display and avoiding the motor area (especially the crankshaft seals). Then when washed and dried with a clean rag (old T shirt) I take it for a spin up the...

    Hope Pro 5 hubs.

If you look at the picture I posted above from Hope for it's ebike specific rear hub (you may have to zoom it up), you'll see all 6 pawls engage at the same time, instead of 3, hence the 54 POE instead of 108 for the non ebike Pro 5 rear hub.

Why does my new chain look stretched?

Are you sure just not looking at the chain on the shifting ramps? (HG cassettes are designed to throw the chain off at certain points)

Why does my new chain look stretched?

Is you're chainring shagged? Did you measure the chains pin to pin over 12"?

E-bike battery explodes, burns out NYC store

Lol, just wait until used EV's are the only option for millions of car users. Does our super intelligent governments think cash strapped drivers will a) install high cost home chargers and the associated upgraded wiring or b) use domestic plugs and extension leads? Coming within the next...

    Upgrading from Rockshox 35 Silver

Chain Reaction had the older Lyrik's on offer at around £350 a month or so ago, might be worth checking out if they still have them for that price. That's if you're in UK.

E-bike battery explodes, burns out NYC store

In the Telegraph (UK) today London Fire Brigade say 40pc increase in home fires started by e-bike conversion kits / e-scooters. Dig deeper into the article and overcharging/charging with the wrong charger are the main culprits (and obviously faulty batteries). Just think about those...

Why does my new chain look stretched?

Measure the distance between chain pins to measure stretch, at 12" centre to centre on a new chain it should be exactly 12".

    Eco sucks!

Same set up here too. 2 Profiles on the EP8, P1 stock, P2 power and hardly any difference in range, at least in a boosted Eco in P2.

    Ep801 solution

You're correct, my thoughts as said in my last post were wrong (in my defence, wine was involved). I totally forgot that when I'm riding at say the 15.5mph limit on the flat I'm not on the smallest rear cog (we select a gear that matches our natural cadence at a given speed). Accept my apology...

    Ep801 solution

Ok, after thinking about this in bed this morning, my line of thought is wrong. Different internal gearing would only change the motor rpm not the cranks/ chainring rpm (but could be useful for power delivery by altering the peak torque to a higher rpm). If we owned throttle powered bikes...

    Ep801 solution

You're out why, its a good bit of little spoken about US Vs EU eebs banyer Your calculations work out except you're saying I should be doing 50 rpm / cadence to hit the UK / EU limit of 15.5mph/25kmh limit if 31mph equals 100 crank cadence, and that just isn't true. Anyone disagree?

    Eco sucks!

It's before you have a massive heart attack, and do at least a bit of workout (slowly).
