Totally worth it in preserving pad life, brake function and sanity, by reducing squeal. You can also use it for cleaning the edges of the pistons, which helps improve brake lifespan.
With the UK winter I've been riding in nothing but the wet until very recently. Don't ride big stream crossings or submerge the motor/BB. Take time to clean and dry everything, and a really small amount of water does make it in into where that battery removal cover in but all the electrics...
Tredz have also proved to be reliable for me over the years and communicate well if there's any delay etc. Similarly always had good experiences with Merlin.
I've always had a soft spot for CyB, first trail centre I rode, 1st place to open up after Foot and Mouth. Don't think Natural Resources Wales have managed it well. Think it is still open but there have been consultations about its future. Might be worth giving Beics Brenin (on site bike...

Use the Garmin eTrex for navigation / bike packing (loaded with full OS maps) which works OK for that, but not as good as the Edge for cycling data gathering.
Not tried shorter cranks, but I''m used to running quite a low BB on previous bikes and probably have the rear suspension on the Lyke slightly firmer than you describe, which seems to help with the "pop" everyone is mad for these days.
How does the Sigma Rox work for navigation in the real world?
Noticed a clicking noise from the motor/BB area when pedalling today. There is a thread on fcbook Fazua riders group that was useful but I don't appear to be able to link to it.
Basic advice was to carefully remove clean and re-loctite the 4 bolts which secure the BB in place to 8nm, which is...
You'll be aware you will need to ad import tax onto that. I've been stung ordering custom hydrofoil parts from the US. Site looks like its based in Indonesia, so returns/dealing with warrantee etc may be a bit of a nightmare.
