Bike without battery is okay, carrying the battery in any form (cabin hand luggage, on ones person, or in the hold) is not allowed (airline worker). Don't try and get it through security - it's not allowed for a reason.
I turned up at e-bikes early in the year, mid week, early in the day as I'm local (hadn't noticed the 'by appointment only'). It was odd; the bloke blocked the door like a nightclub bouncer, as if he thought I'd still attempt entry after he told me the rule. I drove to Beyond Bikes, Smithbrook...
Thanks. Is there a sweet spot in the Magic shine line up - e.g. "don't order anything more than '2000' lumens because a 3 or 4 or 6000 lumen lamp will reduce to this anyway"
Soooo, end of 2023 - did anyone get to the bottom of whether Magicshine lights give their advertised lumens when plugged into a '22/'23 Specialized brose motor, and work out of the box, reliably? Thanks
Quick update - the TCU would only last about 5 or 6 days after a ride (without jump-starting it with a charging brick), so had a new TCU fitted. Shame the '23 model has an integrated watch battery, and not the old replaceable battery...
The dealer's fine (Surrey)- just these little issues. Having said that and coming from a 15 year old Epic, I'm scratching my head about things like gearing ("save weight with a single front cog but add weight with a massive cassette", "have the tiniest cog on the back seeing most of the work...
They replaced the harness the first time on mine. Next I'll be after a new TCU . You're right to be miffed about the flakiness of the bike. It feels a bit... unfinished.
I'm not really into analysing metrics of a ride - just want to see where the next junction is on the offroad byway, how far I've ridden. And I do like OS Maps. I know I could put my phone on the handlebar (I have the OS app, which I like), but I'm wanting something a little smaller, more robust...
right... didn't manage to get out on it, so it stood for a week and wouldn't turn on yesterday. Pulled out the TCU (T10 Torx) and attached a USB C cable from a 15000mAh battery pack to the TCU. Result, TCU turns on. I noted the Zendure battery pack stopped flashing immediately, suggesting the...
Thanks, the bike shop initially charged it overnight, and repeated the process when I returned it (followed by it parked in my kitchen for 5 days when I again found it dead). Yesterdays investigation saw it die again a couple of hours after I got it working (albeit with no immediate ride). I'll...
Ahh, that explains the lack of an obvious battery, then. Thanks.
Re. waking up the bike - yes, I attached a mobile battery pack to the USB-C port (the one the manual says "is for Specialized retailers and service centers" ) and the TCU turned on with a press of the 'on' button. I removed the...
Hi,
I've a 2023 "new" ("sat in a warehouse for the last 18 months") Levo Carbon Comp and twice I've got to the bike and can't turn on the Mastermind TCU, even though there's 90% in the big battery. The first time the shop replaced a cable and declared it fixed, but one week later it's dead...
I'm guessing it's the permission setting in your phone, not in the Specialized app. The app needs your phone to tell it your location - deny it permission. On my phone (Android), I also couldn't find anvwhere to stop it sharing it's logs with Specialized. Maybe it's only when the bike shop plugs...
