Ive ridden shimano xt brakes for years and my new bike came with maguras mt7.
They are way more powerfull and i like them so far.
But I have an issue with the noice.
I tried various method of getting the front brake quit.

Tried eyeballing them straight on the rotor, also screwed them loose and pinched the brake and tightened. Neither worked.

Then I bought these brake alligment plates and finnaly got them silent but the weird issue I'm having is sometimes they start squeaking like a pig when I turn or when I'm climbing and few brakepulls and they are silent again. And random they start squeaking.

Pads are the standard green magura pads

The rotor gap in the calliper is very narrow. I’ve had the same issue where I thought I had perfect alignment but during a ride I know I didn’t.

There was a slight squealing noise due partial rotation. In my situation it was the front wheel. Drove me crazy.

The solution was a very slight calliper post adjustment …perhaps a fraction of a mm. A taco’d rotor or improperly beaded pads or slight wheel flex can cause the rotor to rub on the calliper also.

I prefer the MT7’s Pro’s over the Mavens, Trp, Shimano or SRAM. The MT5’s and MT8’s seem good (for me) also.

It’s really personal preference though. I like the modulation and feel of the MT7’s …but the maintenance …more bleeding imo.

Yes thats what im having! Its driving me nuts to.
Ive use these alligment tools and they certer it great, but when I brake I have to pump the brakes twice and they come closer to the disc and then the squealing sometimes apear

You may have to do a lever bleed, again, especially after you bed-in the pads.

There are other lever shapes available for the MT7’s. (1 finger, 2 finger, HC3). YouTube has videos for replacing levers.
Just remember to bleed the system after new pads, fine adjustments, cleaning, or part of your regular maintenance.

Air bubbles mysteriously appear in the hydraulic system. Magura brake systems are famous for that …it just happens 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Take your bike for a few rides and bleed again. Air can get trapped in the callipers.

I fitted the Gold Genuine Magura "Race" Pads 8.R and all my problems went away.
I think Magura has 3 types of pads for the MT7’s …Race, Performance and Sport.
I use Preformance but just recently I’m trying some generic composite type. I’m keeping a close eye on those.
