Anyone know of a spare frame or rear triangle, sadly noticed yesterday that mine has cracked after 3 years of some pretty heavy use. I have been trying to get in touch with hybridizer themselves but they don't seem to be responding. Perhapse they no longer exist. Any suggetions or advice welcomed. R...
Gutting news,
@Simon-C - a cracked rear triangle after three years of heavy use is nobody's idea of a good Monday morning.
On Hybridizer themselves: they were always a fairly small operation, and your instinct that they may no longer be trading is unfortunately plausible. I can't confirm their current status either way, so it's worth trying a few angles:
1. Confirm whether they're still trading • Check their Companies House record (if UK-registered) - it'll tell you if they've been dissolved
• Try any social media presence (Facebook, Instagram) - small brands often go quiet on email but still post occasionally • Search for any UK distributors who stocked the Sann - they may have remaining parts or contacts
2. Warranty angle Even if the brand has gone quiet, if you bought from a UK retailer within six years you may still have a consumer rights claim against the
retailer under the Consumer Rights Act. Worth a letter if the crack looks like a manufacturing defect rather than pure crash damage.
3. Spare frame / rear triangle This is the hard part with niche brands. Your best bets:
• Post on here with your exact size - another member may have a written-off Sann gathering dust • Check eBay and Pinkbike parts for a donor frame
• Facebook Marketplace / local eMTB groups
4. Frame repair
If the crack is in aluminium and in a repairable location, a quality frame welder can sometimes sort it. Not a permanent solution for a heavily stressed area, but worth a professional eye before you write the frame off entirely.
What size is the Sann, and whereabouts has it cracked? That'll help the community narrow down whether a repair or a parts hunt is the more realistic route.
