    Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Once the bike has been updated, do updates of the app and the bike need to be stopped/blocked to avoid the speed limit being reset?
 
I assume this is just swapping the region over to US using the genuine bosch software
Not sure how a local bike shop would react when they see it's been done - I know how bosch would react :ROFLMAO:

You install teamviewer on computer(windows)!

You make sure you have a USB-C data cable to connect the bike to the computer.

I log in via the ID and password that teamviewer generates and make the change.

Then you can test and then make payment.



We set your bike's speed settings to the USA standard.

This makes your bike 32 KM/H also visible in the flow app.

We can also let it go up to a maximum of 64 KM/H, but we then halve your wheel circumference, causing the bicycle to halve its speed on the display, for example (20kmh=10km).



The flow app and updates remain fully intact.

Before the update, you must ensure that your bike has the latest software via the flow app.



Everything is done with original Bosch diagnostic software.



If you later decide to change from 32 to 64, this is free of charge or vice versa.

Can it be configured to 45km/hr without any issue to match the BDU388Y?
 
I wonder which tool this is.
If anyone has done this conversion and what experiences have been gained.

It is the oem bosch diagnostic tool.

The 32km/h conversion working like with the original limit, can be updated in flow app.

The 64km/h version shows only half speed of the real speed on the display.

  • Will the flow app then also need to be in English?
  • What about all current metrics like mileage (kilometrage) and distances in all different driving modes etc. Will they be reset or remain as is?
  • Can the proces be reversed (from USA to EU (Dutch) if needed?
  • What do you charge for this service?
 
Just had the 32 kph update completed by Rudie, with no issues.

I had updated the bike and the batteries to the latest (December) update earlier.

Took about 15 minutes though you'll need a fast reliable internet as Rudie downloads some Bosch files to your device.

I set up a new user on my laptop and added TeamViewer and brought the bike into the house so it and I was dry and warm, and close to our WiFi.

On my UK based bike, the adjustable sliding scale in each assistance mode configuration now shows a max of 19 mph.

Then paid him though PayPal, selecting the business payment option.

My only issue was that the Purion 200 had no protective cover on the USB port🤔

Are you still able to update all the settings on the bike (torque, power, etc) simply increasing the speed limit a bit? On my rise I have the rear wheel set to a 24" and thats the perfect limit to not hit a wall on flatland jump lines.

I highly recommend this procedure performed by Rudie:

- All flow settings remain unchanged
- All Smart system components (Connect module, Purion200, Kiox300 & 500, and e-Shift connection) continue to function with their current settings.
- Simply put, the only thing that changes is the value of the slider in the max. speed tile, from 25 to 32 km/h.
- In practice, this means (in my case) 31.2 km/h

You even receive a status report of your bike in PDF format.

Are you limited on the rear wheel diameter? I'm looking at mullet bikes and would want 23-24 mph like I currently have on my rise (29er >> 24")

But the Bosch system is only linked to the outside world via Bluetooth to the Flow app on your phone, and you can toggle sending updates to the bike off, so this shouldn't be an issue.
Also I'm sure @Rudie said earlier in this thread that the speed change isn't affected by updates.
 
Rudie did mine this morning, great guy,. he’s very accommodating and straight forward. Took less than 10 mins from connecting teamviewer to finish.

Perfect timing too, because I just got my SRAM AXS derailer extension cable, and the HP port needs to be activated, so he did that too.
 
I have to give a big thank you to Rudie. First installed it on my wife's bike when she has been looking for a solution to remove the limiter for commuting (gen4) I noticed how well it worked and asked to put it on my own bike as well (gen5 smart system) and it worked perfectly there too. Both 64kmh
