Hi all Pablo here,
So yeah due to financial restraints I'm looking at buying a s/h EMTB.
I used to ride a hardtail mtb (about 15 years ago) and now due to age (46) and the fact I always wanted one, I'm looking at full suspension E bikes.
I know deep down it will probably never get used to its full capability but I'd still like the best bike I can get without spending 2k.
I'm not looking for any certain bike right now but I'm regularly browsing ebay and gumtree for possible deals. So any suggestions within budget are welcome.
So far I've contemplated and then missed a whyte E180 and a trek powerfly 9 LT. These were both in budget at under 2k and I should probably have bought one of them as what I'm seeing available now seems lesser spec.

You will probably be able to identify any mechanical problems with the bike. (And be able to fairly cheaply replace any broken items). But the key problem is that the very expensive motor and battery history will be an unknown to you. They may have been fine for the whole time the seller has had the bike and he may be 100% honest. But even they do not know if or when the motor or battery will suddenly fail.

Find out how to get a printout of the history and current status. I personally have never done this, although I know that it can be done, some bikes easier than others. Maybe they should be the bikes you are looking for?

The seller might have to get the report from their dealer.

Make certain that you get a charger with the bike. Let them show you how to use it and to demonstrate that it works.

Thanks for the advice so far, I've found and bought through ebay a Low mileage 200 miles (looks like new) Specialized kenevo turbo comp, it's got all the original manuals paperwork and charger. Yes it's a little over my original budget but you only live once right 🤷🏽‍♂️
I'm collecting it Saturday and i feel like a kid at Christmas 😄

Welcome… fantastic site… don’t let the Age thing worry ya, I’ve purchased a secondhand one at 57…💪👍

Ok little update, still got the kenevo still love it just wish I had more time to ride it. So on that note it now has a trailer hitch and tows my toddler too 🤣
Yes I get some odd looks for towing with it but I don't care 😉

No towing today, just a couple of hours of free riding 💪🏾
