That's the thing with saddles though, no real way to find out what works for you until you've bought one. I know the roadie crowd can get their butts measured which as I understand it involves sitting on a tray of plasticine or something - don't ask me, they're a bunch of weirdos! - so if you can't find one that works, I would try that.a lot of trial and error
Sit on a sheet of corrugated cardboard on a hard flat chair and measure the imprint. Of your bum, not of the dangly bits of course. That's the thing with saddles though, no real way to find out what works for you until you've bought one. An additional point would be this:Sit on a sheet of corrugated cardboard on a hard flat chair and measure the imprint. Of your bum, not of the dangly bits of course.![]()

Tried several saddles including SQ lab saddles, not happy with any of them including the 60X Infinergy Ergowave Active. After several here praised their WTB Koda saddles bought one and bingo, is great.Used the SQ lab measure kit, then followed their recommendation chart and have been running their saddles on all my bikes for years with no issues. Turns out my sit bones were much narrower than I thought.
Getting the top of the saddle at the right height is the third halfA saddle is only half of it, getting the correct fore/aft position and up/down/level nose angle to suit your behind is the other half.
I ride 50km on my Rail five days a week. I use a Selle SMP Lite 209 as I prefer to wear normal shorts when riding as prostate issues are a concern (and not just for me). They take some adjusting to get them right but when you hit the sweet spot its the bomb. I would stress that dual suspension requires more trial and error with this seat than a hardtail does.
That said, everyones build is unique and none of these suggestions may be right for you. I have a shelf full of seats to show for my experimentation. I'd suggest asking friends if they've got seats they dont use that you can try. You may be pleasantly surprised and find a hundred dollar seat that is amazing for you.
