Hi, I'm about to pull the trigger on the AMFlow base model but a few things worry me.

1)
I'm 90kg and will sometimes do 10-15 meter jumps and good sized hucks. I think I will need a shock with HBO. I know I will not like any of the shocks that comes on the 2 bikes specs. Options I am considering are vivid with HBO or RS SD with HBO or possibly mara pro even though it doesn't have HBO because it just an awesome shock. Does anyone have good experience with a shock in this category, on this bike?

I'm a bit confused about the sim situation. Do I really need a SIM for this bike?
3)
Have any of you guys who had this bike for a while had creaks you can't get rid of, or had to change frame bearings more than usual because of rear end flex?

Bonus question: did anyone manage to fit a chainring guard on it? Any clearance issues or anything to be aware of? Looking for a 104 bdc type protector, but im up for anythkng that will protect the abrubt end to a ride if a rock smashes in to the ring.
 
1) Can't help you
2) You don't need a sim.
3) No creaks on mine - it's silent.

The amflow is a trail bike with 150mm rear travel, I think you will potentially run into some issues doing large jumps on this bike.
 
Mine creaked after a few rides. I sequentially greased and torqued the pivot points. The shock-clevis bolt was one source. A lower than spec torque lower main pivot was the other. Solved.

I sometimes get a small rattle from the motor banging down chatter. No biggie. Sometimes also a small (clutch) creak on a hard pedal re-engagement. No biggie either.

Yes that's exactly what I want but what is the procedure here. Do you just buy a sim card and slot it in ?
 
If you are really doing 10-15M jumps, you need to buy a bike that does not use a shock clevis situation. You also need to buy one that is built for that type of riding. The biggest dirt to dirt jump that is known is darkfest, which is 33M. You are apparently jumping half of that distance on an ebike... which is incredible and to me, the idea of doing that on an amflow is terrifying.

I case 5M jumps on my SC bullit and the impact/resonance through the frame is significant and alarming when it happens. I cannot begin to imagine jumping 3x that on a bike that is not as burly.

Same from me.

Bike is really quiet. Both motor and frame.

My personal opinion on the jumps. I am 82kgs. I am dropping off about 1 metre walls in some of the urban rides. I am blowing though all my travel when doing this.

I would need to set the bike up stiffer to drop any further, which would spoil the other handling.

So you probably need more travel if you want something that will jump longer jumps, but ride decent in other areas.

It really depends most on the landing, how the impact is felt.
5M jumps can be anything from buttery smooth to near a death experience. Surely some technique can be used to smooth out a landing, but it does heavily rely on how the jump is built, the speed you carry and the landing. A 10M just does not always feel more impactful than a 5M jump.
Regarding the bike, I do most of the bigger stuff on a DH bike, but fuel exe has served me well on many rough trails and big jumps.
As for the amflow bike though, I think you are correct. The bike just isn't right for what I want to do. Here I am especially thinking about the very short shaft of the shock. 55mm is quite short for 150mm since it will generate a lot of pressure in the shock with a very short stroke. It's probably a really good bike for lighter riders or someone does mostly lighter trail riding. It seems to be the intended use, also considering the components.

The clevis seems to work fine for some bikes like the YT lineup (never had a capra but I haven't heard that it eats shocks), but it does look a bit fragile on amflow bikes. I decided to wait for a more burly bike with the avinox motor.

I have installed 36t on mine.. No clearance problem
