Exactly what we have, single finger braking for me with M6100 levers and M4100 levers for my wife. I also have Swissstop Catalyst Pro 220mm rotors (front and rear) which have incredible feel. As an ex-motorcyclist my wife knows how to use brakes.

Could’ve rented the kit from a LBS($75 for a few days) but ordered one instead. Expensive little item that I’d probably only use a few times. As it turns out I’ve used it around 4 times. It seemed to help my initial setup and curbed my curiosity on other occasions. And then this happened a few days ago.

My extremely fit neighbor; “Hey Stihldog, Do you still have that shock-testing-gizmo? I want to check our mtb’s”.

And then the next day my ridding buddy, who just bought a new Knolly with Fox suspension; “ Can we setup my suspension with that gadget you have?”

And then yesterday, my next door neighbor; “somethings going on with my suspension …do you still have that ah…you know …ah…that thing …?”
ShockWiz I said.
“YAH!…can I borrow it?”

This is not a device for everyone, and real-world testing is still the best way imo. But it gives me a benchmark that I use occasionally and helps with the initial setup.

I've been thinking about one of these. I find my fork stiff and jarring on my Heckler, while my wife finds hers mushy, she likes mine. I would think this would give a more scientific view of the performance. Does it help dial in the rebound and compression as well as the pressure?

I’m still going back and forth between picking up a set of these or going with Maguras to replace the Code RSCs that came on my bike. What kind of deal did you get? My LBS has them on sale right now but I’m noticing they’re on sale everywhere.

Same. I use Castrol multi purpose grease and also Castrol high performance bearing grease, which is £6 each for 500g. Any grease with 'bicycle' in the name, is the same price but for only 100g.

I also use thinners a lot, cleaning chains, degreasing things, and a 125mm bottle is nearly £6. OR I can go to the car parts shop and buy 5ltrs for £13.

Yes, it suggests a lot of settings depending on the input you provide. There are many reviews available online also.

Yeah I like the rise but they are quite narrow. Dont really like the look of the bike with them on. So I just ordered some at 720mm with a 30 rise.

The vibrations are the issue. I killed the cameras on 2 iPhones on my 1000cc bike from vibrations - then they brought out that little isolator for quad lock that goes between the phone and mount.

Whilst not quite the same intensity of frequencies on the MTB it could have an impact, so one on trails I take mine off at the moment.
 
The 720mm bar with a 30 rise arrived today. Much happier with the look & feel. And plenty of space for the Quadlock.

If you look closer ideal position i.e. for bench press, your hands are pretty close that 800mm.
In "attack" position 800mm is pretty ideal for your shoulders.

Common misleading thought is that wide bar is bad for your shoulders. It's not. Narrow is. 🙂

And riding style means a lot also.
For me narrow bar is not good. Causes pain in wrists, neck and shoulders. I can't "relax" with narrow bar.
With wide bar i get natural feeling for my position on the bike.

Maybe you feel better with a wide arms stance because you have arms stronger than core…

But, to maintain better balance and control of your weight distribution, you should use the core muscles and keep the hands light on the bars and heavy feet.
 
Adding to my previous post, since I have messed trying to edit it, I would say that a shorter bar width also gives more amplitude to your front/rear body movements. In other words, your hands reach further when the arms are not so wide open.
 
Deity Copperhead 31.8/35mm stem. Will move my current Gusset S2 AM 31.8/40mm stem into my wife's Rail to replace the stock Bontrager 50mm stem.

Some waterproof connectors… will try to fix the results of the stupid idea of trying to cut the ziptyes of a racing number plate from the handlebars

On my Scott Strike, the exposed battery keylock on the downtube was always collecting dust or mud, making it sometime difficult to slide the key in the keyhole. :LOL:

I solved this by fitting a black silicone plug. Measured the exact hole diameter and found the plug size on Aliexpress.

Voila, peace of mind now when riding in dusty or muddy conditions. Also helps prevent water ingress in the battery compartment.

I think such keyhole plug should have come as standard with the e-bike. ;)
