Levo Gen 2 2nd Hand Turbo Levo 2020 - firmware upgrades only at retailers?

Hi,

I've recently purchased a 2nd hand 2020 Turbo Levo Comp. I wanted to upgrade the display, motor & battery firmware versions, however the Specialized app issued a message asking me to go to a retailer to do this.

Anyone aware of why is it? Any way to overcome this without going to a retailer?

If it's a last update then there is only update for the battery firmware, I wouldn't bother much, just wait for the next oprotunity to go to LBS (for some other issue/service) and do it then...

I have updates pending for all three components, it seems like the previous owner didn't do recent updates

Gotcha there, maybe in this case this is the right way to go.

Did an upgrade at no cost at the retailer shop, was all good before and haven't noticed any significant change since.

I received an email advising of an update. Dind care much but the bike started showing error messages and turning itself off.
Went to the LBS and they said the missing upgrade was probably the cause.
Did that and till now no more turning off or error messages.
This upgrade had to be done at LBS, not a wifi download to the MC.
