Shimano 630Whr battery - charging question

For the first time I have removed the 630 Whr Shimano battery from my bike for charging indoors. In addition to the continuous red charging light on the charger, there is a flashing green light on the power switch of the battery. The sequence is off, 5 flashes, off, 5 flashes etc.

I am hoping that this indicates that all is well, and the battery is charging properly. Can I expect any change to this sequence? Like for example the number of flashes reduces as the battery get closer to being fully charged. Is there a link to the correct off bike charging and what all the codes mean (if any)?

An hour and 45m later, the green light is now continuous. I would normally have taken that as fully charged, but the red light on the charger is still on. Charging is not complete until the red light on the charger goes out.
Any insights?

I believe the charger will turn off 1 hour after it’s done charging. The green light flashes once for each bar that is charged. 3 bars would flash 3 times, 4 bars flashes 4 times, etc….

Thanks for your reply. :)

May I assume that you mean "flashes once for each bar that needs charging"?
When on continuous green, I'm assuming that the cells are all charged and it is now doing the balancing.

Anyway, I've just had a look and it's all done now, no green, no red. (2hrs 20 mins) So I doubt that it has 5 bars worth of charge to do.

Talk about coincidence, 2 hrs ago I did the same thing now I have the adapter to charge off the bike and 2x630w batteries. I was looking at the battery and thinking ‘I wonder what the flashing lights mean?’ Now I know 👍🏼

I tested with shimano 8036 battery and when the led is solid green, the charger doesn't draw any power so no balancing is happening at this stage. So charging is complete once the led is solid green.

I suggest to read the shimano manuals.
