At first, if I was on the market for an ebike today I would buy the Meta Power again. It still ticks all the boxes for me. The bike is an absolute beast, I never enjoyed this much and never been as fast on the way down with my Canyon Strive than with this monster. It's really confidence inspiring and in a good way. :)

List of parts I swapped to my preferred ones at the beginning:

- 20T engagement Formula rear hub to Hope Pro4
- Guide RE brakes to Saint with Ice-Tech rotors (I tried the Guides but I'm used to Saints on my enduro and Sram brakes are not for me, no matter how many times I try them)
- E8000 assist switch to E6000
- Vertical dropper remote to BikeYoke Triggy horizontal
- Grips to Ergon GD1
- WTB Volt saddle to SqLab 611 Active
- 34T chainring to Superstar 32T (the bike came with 10-42 GX cassette and I needed lower gear)
- 400lbs coil spring to 450lbs
- Nukeproof Horizon Sam Hill pedals

Parts needed to be replaced:

- @1400km: engine, due to play in the 'bottom bracket' bearings (through contacting Shimano directly in my country)
- @1800km: rear mech and 4 spokes - rear wheel picked up a branch and it ripped off my rear mech and bent a couple of spokes so I had to replace them
- @2250km: 4x6802 bearings in the rocker (I stripped down the bike to grease the linkages and they were a little bit 'scratchy' but not seized)

The rest is just regular maintenance (checking bolts, servicing fork etc.), no issues.

I'm alternating two chains at every 1000km and I'm on the first pair. I'm using the dirt cheap PC1110 (11€) and I didn't have a single issue with them. I guess I can easily make it to 4000km with the two.
I ride the bike in the same style as my regular bike with 80-90 cadence and avoid shifting under load. The assist level in Trail is set to 'middle' and in Boost to 'High'. Boost for me is just for 'getting out of jail', I don't remember the last time I used it.

I just replaced the worn out HRIIs with a set of Magic Marys (Apex, Soft) and so far so good. I prefer Maxxis tires but the MMs were much cheaper so I decided to try them.

I think that's all... for now. :)

Good review I Agree with what you say , I would buy the bike again , not seen or tried anything except the Merida e900 that ticks as many boxes .
Would like to try the 29er version for comparison .

Yes, I think I would have the same opinion if I had the Merida... :) These two are very similar on many ways. I would like to try the 29er too it should be awesome.

Emtb mag just tested it against the Spectral:
