It took a few rides, but I finally took care of all the rattles in my new Levo SL. So much nicer to ride when it doesn’t sound like a bucket of bolts!

Here are the steps I took:

1. Clean and grease chain. Sounds obvious, but I’ve fixed rattles before just from a proper chain clean.

2. Added double-sided foam adhesive to the brake line, where it enters the frame. It would rattle a bit there.

3. Seat post clean, lube, and tighten to torque spec.

4. Check that each bolt is tightened to torque spec. This means back it off to loosen it, then tighten to spec.

5. Loosen stem bolts and redo, starting with the steerer tube bolt. The Specialized spare chain links that are in my steerer tube were quite loose, so I taped them with electrical tape.

6. Brake calipers - pad H spacers were rattling a lot (SRAM Guide 2 Ultimate). I took them out and widened them. This also made the brakes feel more responsive and make it easier to clear the rotor when the brakes aren’t applied.

7. Check spoke tension

8. Cassette rings tighten

Hope this helps others.

I had noisy pad spring too. Finally took it out and spread it a bit today. No more zinging :)

There's a spare chain link in there?!?!? Is that a SWorks only thing, or have I missed something on my Expert?

I think if you have the multi-tool, you should have the 2 spare chain links.
