I have a Jam2 not a Sam2, but based upon that you will probably find that the bar underneath the grips is creased to allow electrical wires to hide while the grips slide on. I never noticed the wires (they are underneath) the first time I removed my grips to reorder the levers. I very nearly snapped them.

You can change the handlebar to whatever you like. Only downside with ordinary handlebar is that you lose that hidden sleek look. I did not want cables hanging so I bought Shimanos PRO branded riser bar that is made for Di2 setup.

I wanted renthal but not for di2 which means taping up cable to bar.. Or for the brave drilling holes in bar cable routing.. Was tempted but bought pro di2 carbon bars in end. Not cheap but di2ready
