What app/website for logging/finding trails

What is your favourite app/website for finding and logging trails...? I use ViewRanger (with OS maps) and just trying TrailForks.

Log all my rides via garmin connect which uploads automatically to strava which in turn propogates to trailforks. Shows what trails I've ridden and times etc. When riding in a new area and I get lost I just pull my phone out and check trailforks.

How do you get Strava to Propgate to Trailforks. I looked at trailforks as an option but there were no trails for at least 50 miles and as I'd started making e-bike segments on Strava by then I couldn't be bothered starting again.

I'm not sure I get you. I record my rides with garmin connect which uploads my gps coordinates and rides to strava. Then strava uploads them to trailforks.

If I have happened to ride a trail while doing my strava ride it will show in trailforks that I have ridden that trail.

In trailforks there is an option to import your strava rides. You can also do it he other way and record your rides with the trail fork app and then it will upload that ride to strava.

I use garmin as then I don't have to carry my phone to run the app. They all record on my garmin watch then when I get home it all syncs up. I only take my phone if I'm in a new area and I don't know the trails in case I get lost.

I use Trailforks too for exploration, my activity is logged using Strava (synchronised from Garmin Connect).
The setup between the two is fairly simple in the settings page on Trailforks (if that was what you’re questioning)

You can always print out the trail maps from Trailforks and use them the good old analog way

Dont know about UK but for mainland europe komoot is superb, lots of routes on all levels and a lot of them! You can ride the routes from the app but can also export as GPX, which you can use in Blevo for instance.

I use Komoot as well in combination with Trailforks. I find Trailforks better for seeking out trails...then import them as .gpx files into Komoot. On Komoot you can buy maps ( £20 for all of them) which means you can use a phone to navigate without internet access...…...and of course without having to buy a Garmin or other GPS device. Other than that the app is free. I have my phone in a crossbar mounted case with plastic top so I can check the map when needed. In the case the phone is pretty immune to risk of damage from impact or vibration, or indeed rain. The phone is linked via Bluetooth to ear phones so I can hear directions to the head of a planned trail etc. Komoot tells you if you have gone the wrong way and that's the only time I need to check the map on the phone. Komoot turns the screen off to save battery and turns it on only when giving an instruction or if you wake it up manually. With the case I use and touch sensitive gloves I can check the map to see which way I should have gone.

Komoot is great in the UK, I used it extensively while bikepacking in the Cairngorms last year.
It's great for planning big rides.

I’ve tried quite a few & of course Trailforks is excellent for finding trails - established ones which are well travelled & busy at times depending on locale.

However if you’ve gone bush, in the wilderness, in a jungle or somewhere even more exotic, Trailforks is probably not going to help - especially if there’s not a single radio wave to be had. So in this case or even if you just need to discover new places to ride near home, I recommend Maps 3D. You really can discover the undiscovered not to mention the off-road off-line auto routing is great. Only on iOS though.

Alongside Komoot (and the little GPX export add-on) for more remote and complicated destinations (and backup) I use Osmand. IMHO the best map-app I know. Works with a lot of import options, you can layer maps, is utterly detailed, and you can easily donwload a big variety of maps for ‘free’. This one is available on both iOS and Android

Here in west Switzerland I use wikiloc, which is okish.

I'm looking for loop xc circuits in my outer suburban area and nearby hills, which aren't that easy to find. Most people post circuits that are on paved roads as "MTB" as they involve some hills. You could do them on a gravel bike.

Switzerland Mobility has a good app where you can seek out all the footpaths and ride them, but it's trial and error finding which ones don't have long, steep flights of steps.

I tried trailforks and Strava but the former didn't have much of interest around here and the latter seemed more focussed on scattered short climbs against a clock. Maybe I was missing something

You also might want to try out Singletracks, which (as Trailforks) is community based, and you can find all sorts of trails. Strava is unfortunately often misused as people call an unpaved road with a climb or descent a MTB trail.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it's a bit like trailforks. Single tracks has 30 registered tracks in the whole of Switzerland, a country where it's a challenge not to find hills. The nearest one to me on singletracks is Verbier, an hour's drive away, past shitloads of hills (I'd have to literally drive past the portes du soleil to get there).

I think I'm missing something. There's probably a francophone equivalent. Or maybe there aren't enough francophones to make a specialised MTB site, rather than a generalist site such as wikiloc worthwhile. Or maybe it's too easy here, just go outside and find a hill, you don't need a track sharing site, which is pretty much what I've been doing.

The nearest one to me on singletracks is Verbier, an hour's drive away, past shitloads of hills (I'd have to literally drive past the portes du soleil to get there).

Again....try Komoot. I don’t know where you live exactly but when I look at Verbier with a radius of 25km I allready see 26 tours just in expert mode. 38 with intermediate added.
