Tubeless Roadie

Hello All,
I took my flat bar roadie out for the first time in ages and 2 things surprised me-
Riding a battery bike for 12 weeks did not seem to negatively affect my fitness AND I seem to be slower on the roadie above the 25kph motor cutoff speed.
Not sure how...
So with that in mind, I am thinking of ditching the uncomfortable 25mm razor blades and putting cyclecross tyres on it - 33 maybe and going tubeless.
Not saying I'll be faster on the 33's but can't see it being slower.
Apparently this is tubless easy: Maxxis Speed Terrane 700x33c EXO/TR Carbon Folding Cyclocross Tyre.
Not sure about the rims though. The specs say "Merida comp 22 disc" - any thoughts?

Cheers
