Review: Bought this to let the deer know I'm coming. I had a few close calls with the critters and decided to try a bell.

It's almost too loud, but it's a quality bell for sure.

Everything with ears within a 1/4 mile radius will be aware of your progress if this is turned on.

The off position is totally silent.

Exactly the same reactions to mine.

I find that switching it on well back from people as you approach them gives a gentle warning that is not an agressive ringing (it sounds like a miniature cow bell), and that's why they tend to take notice and step back.

I have never had anybody complaining about it ringing, except my riding partner (who gets irritated at anything ................... I am surprised he can hear it over the creaking coming from his bike that he claims he cannot hear!).

It is not very loud, so anybody with poor hearing and people with headphones will not hear it.

Very expensive, but a good compromise between alerting people and upsetting them!
