Studded tyres... any good on roads?

Thinking how icy it gets, and don’t want to wash out on roads.

I know they are good in snowy conditions and on actual ice.

If I were to guess, I would say no because there is less contact to the road with the grip of the tyre, and the studs can’t bed into the road like it can on ice.

My studded had to be run in with 40km on tarmac.
No problem at all....but hey, they are just soo noisy on the tarmac/hard ground.

The grip on the ice/hard hacpked snow is incredible.
The last 3 days with 30km trail went excellent, and I'm just so happy I got the tyres.

No problems with bedding in the studs on tarmac. But I have a few concerns with studded tyres, it is not the holy grail. Have sent PM.
