I fit the mudhugger rear mudguard over my existing shorter mudguard with re-useable zip ties. So I can decide on a ride by ride basis whether it is needed or not and it only takes a couple of minutes to fix or remove.

Was thinking of taking mudguards off before today’s ride but glad I didn’t. Heathery parts of hills still holding a bit of moisture and still slimy out.

Pretty sure the tower in photo 3 would be easier to lift over all the fences that this bike!!
Still love it though.

MegNeg. I’m 72kg in my riding kit, with two bands and nigh-on 30% sag fitted to my E-160 S.
Thoughts: it took about 10 minutes of riding off kerbs and a few runs on a local rooty trail to get the rebound (that’s all owners get to play with on the S’s shock) there or thereabouts.
It appears to me that the shock has more character; I can feel the movement better and the bike feels more poised, helping me ride the front.
This makes it feel (to me) less tiresome to ride and on my 20-mile shakedown returned improved times on pretty familiar trails (I am fairly certain I can look beyond the shiny bike/placebo effect on this front having tested and raced motorbikes professionally, but we’re all vulnerable to it).
The shock seems to respond better to smaller and bigger hits and overall I would say has proved its worth at least to me.
Will I experiment with more/fewer bands? Good question. Probably, but not now.
Would I have been better to save my cash and go for a more sophisticated shock? Possibly, but for now the MegNeg has given me new parameters to explore and made rides more satisfying which, at that price point, seems very good VFM.

I've just watched Matthews video again ..bloody awesome riding and shows what these bikes are capable of ...not that this rider will ever be that capable ..
If I was 13 years old that second pic might have found a place on my bedroom wall..!
( At 64 ..it might yet find a place on my office wall ! ? )
