Hello

Is it possible to swap the displays and controllers between e8000 (sc-e8000+sw-e7000L) and ep8 (sc-e5003)?
Cheers

Yes, but you'll need some adaptors and possibly cables. Check the Shimano STEPS site for compatibility charts.

If you're looking to upgrade from the 5003 to get BT connection (a few threads here on this) you need the e800 display not the e8000 display and no adaptors are required.

Thank's Gordon @flash
Shimano's compatibility charts are bit too complicate for me. Can you please point me to the specific adapter?
Let say for the sake of the question that i have two bikes - one is e8000(with sc-e8000 wich does have BT connection) and the other one is ep8 with sc-e5003. I want to run the ep8 with the sc-e8000 and vice versa - will both of them work appropriately?

You can't connect the SC-E8000 display to the EP8 unfortunately :(

For EP8 these are the compatible displays:

For your E8000 motor these are the compatible displays:
(So it looks like the SC-E5003 will work with it)

Thanks @mark.ai
For some reason, my compatibility chart looks a bit different, but still - sc-e8000 not included ?
Maybe if I'll wait enough, a new one will pop up

Yep I think they updated it, as the EW-EN100 is compatible with all those motors on the right side.

But I don't think they will add compatibility for the SC-E8000, as it looks like the "8000" series is being phased out. With E7000 and EP8 now instead - so the EM800 display looks like the successor to it.

The BT on the E8000 display was also limited. It connects to the *project* app but not the *ride* app. It also wouldn't pass through the information to a Garmin computer. So it makes sense it's being phased out.

As to what connectors it depends on how they wired the bike. The 5003 is swappable with the EM800. No adaptors required. The E8000 is hot swappable with the E70000 display or an EW-EN100 junction box.

You can put an E7000 display or EN100 in place of the 5003 but I don't know how your bikes wired so I can't say what adaptors and cable lengths you'd need. Probably need to drop the motor I suspect.

Looks like a straight swap isn't possible for your case.

Will it help to know it's a 2018 merida eone sixty 900e?
Any way, it looks like there isn't a way around buying a new sc-e7000. At least i will be able to keep my sw-e7000L?.
Anyone knows a good online store (with international shipping?)

Sure will. I have a 2019 900. You can get the e7000 display as a direct swap. On my bike I put on an EW-EN100 and use my Garmin. I tried an E7000 display and prefer the EN100/Garmin combo as the EN100 displays a colour LED for the mode and the E7000 is all B&W. Plus the Garmin shows battery percentage etc. It can even show your Di2 gears.

To use the EN800 display you'll need an SD50 to SD300 adaptor plus a short SD300 cable.

Hi,
So will EW-EN100 work with sc-e5003 to get access to etube?
I just get merida eone forty and realized that sc-e5003 doesn't have bluetooth and I'm looking for easiest way to be able to connect with etube.
