Screeching from the motor ?

My 2020 Levo has now done 110 miles, today 24 miles into a ride on eco mode there was initially a squeak at the same point on pedal revolution coming from the motor, this went away and then there was a screeching, squealing noise fairly loud till I stopped pedalling. I checked everything over and nothing to see or feel everything was free, had no choice but to continue as I was at least 5 miles from any sort of road. Set off gently and no noise, so carried on home another 12 miles and it didn’t return. I’ll be taking to the dealer though as it has to be motor or belt, anyone else had this and what happened next or what did your dealer say ?

When my belt stripped, drive disappeared. As it was still mobile I am not thinking belt, but who knows.

Yeah that obv makes sense, Im torn as to what to do as it’s only 3 weeks old I do have the option to reject it. My previous bosch bike has been great for 18 months and will come out again when this goes back. My head did say get another Bosch but my heart won when I saw the Levo ?

Check the motor bolts. I had a high frekvency (but low) ticking/creaking noice from my 2020 Kenevo. Two out of six motor bolt were a bit loose. Disappeared when thigthened.

I was in a similar situation. I’ve owned 3 Bosch bikes and liked the m but decided to go with a specialised.
On my second ride it died completely and I had to ride/push it home 8 miles. I was so tempted to reject it, it really pissed me off and didn’t fill me with confidence.
Anyway my lbs fixed it the same day, it was the power lead and it’s been perfect ever since, I absolutely love it.
I did have 3 new motors in my Bosch bikes but they never left me stranded.

Bike is with LBS who were very good tbh and are going to talk to specialized, unsure whether I keep or not as I have more faith in my old bosch than this new one

Bike is home, dealer has been great taking it in with no notice and fixing same week, had a long chat with them and can’t fault their service or Specialized so we‘ll see how it goes. Dealer is JE James at chesterfield and I’ll be using them for wife and daughters next bikes.

Just for information, the screech is usually caused by one of two things. partial failure from one of the sprag clutch bearings or seizure of the crankshaft needle roller bearing due to water ingress.
While I have mentioned the needle bearing, if your crank is stiff to turn backwards or squeaking etc. please stop poring oil in there. It makes a horrible mess that takes ages for me to clean out and just prolongs the inevitable. (y)

Bike came home, managed 32 miles today before the rear mech exploded and ended the ride, known problem with the sram gear so it’s back to the shop again !
