Way cool. I got a $800 discount but would have taken a battery - they are $1500 for the 700Wh and probably about $1200-1300 for the 500.

Yikes, I just bought a 48v/18ah (862wh) 2170 cell, same as the Spec 700wh, for $500 for my open source eMTB. Moved up from the 500wh one I had for the old longer range effect. But I can still use my 500 for shorter rides, or combine for all day adventures.....

Yup - shocking prices. Should be about $400-500 for the 700Wh based on maybe a 200% mark-up on components you can purchase from various wholesalers.

my LBS offered me a base levo at the normal RRP ($7k AUD) with a 700w battery rather than the 500w. Put deposit down for it on Friday.
