Nyon upgrade, good idea or not?

I’m considering upgrading to the Nyon display from Purion. Any advice, one way or the other, gratefully received.

...only if you want a smartphone on your bars; looks a pretty naff solution to me, I would be constantly worrying it would fly off on jumps or technical descents.

Been starting to think the same thing myself, having had another good look at it. Probably not best suitable to riding I do.

The only thing the Nyon brings, is the ability to perform updates yourself, rather than having the bike shop do it. If you want a GPS, buy a dedicated GPS. Which means a Garmin, cause the Mio's are naff.
