Morning

Has anyone had the latest update on the 1.3 motor in the 2017-2018 levo? I've had the latest update and it's shocking! Has killed all power and torque. Even with turbo at 100% and max everything it is a shadow of its former self lol. I did also have a replacement motor at the same time for worn out bearings.

I noticed a big change as well after I got mine back witha new motor and firmware. I suspect that they are tuning down the motor to increase longevity.

If it’s the firmware that took away the acceleration adjustment then yes it did change the bike a lot.
It's awful! Turbo just isn't turbo anymore and trail at 70% now! It doesn't seem to give assistance at the right time, my merida feels like a rocket compered to the levo now.

I'm going to insist I go back to the previous firmware. Luckily it's still just about in warranty by a matter of days

5.4.0 is the firmware for the 1.2e motor which i believe outputs 60nm
5.0.4 is the firmware for the 1.3 motor which outputs 90nm

I think 5.0.0 is the previous motor firmware for the 1.3 motor, output should be 90nm. I think (might be wrong) all 5.0.4 did was adressed temperature management at high workloads
Battery firmware versions will have the biggest effect on motor performance for the 1.3 motors

So is it possible that the replacement motor I've had has been reduced to a 1.2 instead of the 1.3 that was in it before? Only had the motor replaced 2 weeks ago. How can I find out what motor mine has it it now?

Thanks

If you give me the serial number we should be able to tell
What bike do you have?

yes motor serial number you can get it from mission control
if your bike is 2017 it was originally fitted with the 1.2 motor serial number starts C911 if its 1.3 motor serial number starts C972
as far as I know, both of those motors have the same output (90nm) and run the firmware 5.0.0 or 5.0.4
the latest 1.2E motor with firmware 5.4.0 as found in the basic 2019 hardtail and the cheapest 2019 Kenevo only output 60nm. if you have one of those fitted they are a very smooth motor but you will notice the power drop

Excellent info thanks. Its defo a 1.2 they have fitted under warranty. I've made the call to the shop they have the old serial number on email somewhere so are going to check it and get back to me and then spesh. It definitely 100% came with the 1.3 so seems they have sent the wrong motor. Which is evident when you ride it cos now feels like a wet fart lol

Thanks for your help!

Specialized say mine had a 1.1 when it left the factory which should be 82nm. They have replaced it with a 1.2e which should have 85nm (according to spesh) so it's going back to the shop yet again to be looked at, my 70nm shimano pisses all over the new 1.2e so they think there might be a problem with it.

hmm my 2017 levo had a 1.2 motor i thought the 1.1 was for the vado. so are spesh saying the 1.2e has 85nm? if thats correct then you should hardly feel the difference you are talking to specialized uk right? not a specialized concept store

That's what they said is I shouldnt notice any diff. But it's half what it was.

My local spesh dealer spoke directly to specialized about it this morning. They had my old serial no and new ones so spoke to spesh directly

When I described what it feels like he did say they had a kenevo that had the same symptoms but can't remember what the problem was.
