How fat of a tire do you think you can fit on the rear? Would a 2.6 fit?

what do you weigh @Rob Hancill and how agressive a rider are you now? Last vid of yours I watched I thought you'd improved tons on the bike... but hard to tell from that alone.

I'd only use a Pike on a dirtjump bike (Lowered to 100/120mm). I'm 200lb and you've probably guessed how I ride... ;)
I weigh about 85KG with kit. I am not super aggressive but I like to try ?

Hmm..
Had to google weight conversion for your modern weighing system. Turns out I'm 90kg ;)
A Pike should be absolutely fine for trail riding at your weight/riding style... But if you value fork stiffness/strength the Lyrik has a lot more of both and the penalty for it is only about 200g extra weight.
Pre-Eeb I was right around your current weight and riding a Lyrik on my Enduro bike and an OG Pike on my DJ, 4X and slope bikes (at 100, 110 & 140mm respectively)... I rode that slope bike down Fort william WC track many times with zero issues other than it being slightly more tiring than on my DH bikes.
It's really a choice of whether you're looking for a really lightweight bike or a slightly stiffer/stronger one.
Personally If I was aiming to have a very light Carbon SL for tamer local riding (but also had something like my ESommet for rougher, bigger terrain) I'd probably go with the Pike. I haven't owned a trail bike of any sort in 25+ years. though, just jump/gravity bikes, roadbikes and BMX.

I was thinking the Pike Ultimate with the 2.1 damper would be quite different to the Fox 34 in terms of damping performance.

Change stock damper the one wich has LSC and HSC adjustments. Doing this you save money and get the same that pike offers.
Without weight penalty.

@Rob Hancill 100% get the lyric, the added stiffness of the chassis will be far more noticeable and improvement over the 34 - you will get better dampening on the pike than the 34, but its not going to make a noticeable difference to the ride in the way a burlier fork would.

I also think from a purely selfish point of view that I guess a lot of others would also agree with, is that most people who change the fork on an SL are going to put a 36 or a Lyric on it, so if you are going to do content based on swapping the fork, going to a Lyric or 36 would be far more interesting.

Plus I dont think you have had the pleasure yet of putting time on a Lyric Ultimate, and now the time to do it!

I’m waiting for someone to put a 160 Lyric on and see how it rides. Lyric Ultimate would be my personal choice. The one I had on the Rail was really smooth and planted.

Has anyone with an SL put on 2.6 inch tires front and rear? Any problems?
I have had issues with traction with the 2.3 stock tires and am hoping to put on 29x2.6 magic mary tires.
I ordered one of these.

Will mount it and find out.

Isn't it about time the "Levo SL" had a shorted nickname .. like "SLevo" ? Pronounced "Sleeve'O'".

Levo SL owners can then at least have their own mini chant anthem when bumping into one another like "Sleeeeev'O, Sleeeeev'O, Sleeeeev'O" ..

If it turns into a mechanical and electrical disaster (which it won't) .. it could be the "Levo S-Hell"..

Oh god, I'm obviously suffering from severe storm induced riding withdrawal symptoms... Stuff it, I'm going out .. how bad can it be ..

I agree with upgrading the Levo SL, but why not start with the SL carbon comp over the SL S-works. It's the same frame and motor, save the $6K and then build a custom bike. I prefer Shimano build over Sram, that's my plan.

Imo 11spd is enough and you can save weight using 11spd.

I’ve gone with the expert... the brakes are better, the Eagle cassette is lighter, and the wheels are carbon. I’ve had Roval carbon wheels in the past, and always found them to be ok.

My upgrades are:
SRAM XX1 AXS upgrade - £658.52
RockShox Reverb AXS - £539.99
RockShox Lyric Ultimate - £643.11
ENVE downhill bar - already own
ENVE stem - already own
Probably a wider front tyre... but waiting to see what fits.

XX1 and Reverb are on their way. Also waiting for more info on 150 vs 160 fork before ordering and which offset.

No... they can’t even come close to any of those prices. I have to get my SL from Evans, as they did a 30 day exchange with my Rail.
XX1 is bike-components.de - I can’t find a UK site for under £850, so it’s a no brainier.
Reverb is Wiggle - but Evans price matched... and the Lyric is another German site that I can’t remember the name of.
I’ll be getting my range extender from a EBC using the gift voucher from the demo.

Support your local store where possible... but almost £300 difference for the AXS stuff is unreal.

True... however I could get the Rail with 15% off online (in store collection approx 400miles away) and my local Trek dealer could only give me 5%. Evans matched the 15%. On a Rail 9.9, that wasn’t far off £1500 vs £500 discount.
I’d rather not buy from Evans, however a saving like that couldn’t be turned down.

I agree, but the custom build will be a lot sicker then the factory build:

Rims - 29" Reserve 30 rims with Industry 9 hubs
Maxxis Tires 2.5 Assegai EXO front and 2.4 rear DHR II EXO with Cushcore
Enve Bars with a Industry 9 stem
XT 4 piston brakes with IceTech 203mm rotors front and rear
AXS Seatpost
XTR shifter
XT 11-speed Cassette, Derailleur, Chain (More durable then the 12 speed)
Fork Fork 36 Grip2 150mm
Fox Shock X2 210 x 55mm

It was Rutland Cycles... they had a 15% off coupon code at the beginning of January for New Year. Someone on here pointed it out when I asked what sort of discount I should be haggling for.

My dirty S-Works Stumpjumper Fatty medium stock except Maxxis tires and no tubes but race face Chester pedals were on it weighing 340g so 13.32kg-.34kg = 12.98kg

Levo SL starts off 5.16kg heavier (with tubes)
I’ll be doing upgrades: carbon wheels, AXS reverb, XX1 cassette, maybe AXS drivetrain upgrade, tires, etc.

Changed tires immediately and made tubeless. Ground Control and Purgatory work so much better than i thought and saved around 500g.
Also changed stem, saddle and handlear to my personal preferences.
I´m blown away by the bike, so natural. I did not know how natural E-MTbiking can be, i definitely stay with the SL and won´t go back to the clumsy LEVO.
