Front wbeel play

This on behalf of a mate of mine who has a 2019 Levo basd model.
He has some play in the front wheel. He tried using more tensiln ln tbe througb axle bjt it mzkds nl difference. He pulled off the boost spacers on each side. The bearings run smooth.testing with a finger. Inserting thd through axle it slides in very easilly and the play is visible. Hlw do you remove the next spacer/collar to get at the bearings? Could this just be an undersized through axle....or faulty bearings?

Update: Today I was out on a ride with my mate so whilst we were packing the bikes away I tried the through axle from my bike in my mate's front wheel.............NO PLAY! So it seems his through axle has been machined a little under its 15mm diameter. ps the bike is only 200km old and there is no visible wear on the axle so its not a wear issue.

A measurement with a caliper will tell whether the axle is the wrong diameter.

Well its definiely smaller than mine and the only difference between the bikes is that mine is the comp and his is the base model.
