Hi,
Can anyone confirm the number of links for a replacement chain. I count 118 but seem difficult to find a direct replacement other than 116 links.

I think you have the amount right. I'm running two quick links instead of one and that does the trick when using a std 116 link chain.

I run the HG701 and it seems to last a long time so far...well over a 1000 miles so far and no wear according to the gage. I lube it every time I ride, wipe it before (don't wash it) using Rock N Roll Gold.
