149 euros is expensive when a magnet on your pedal and flipping the sensor over does the same thing (I've heard.)

Anywhere someone might learn a little more about this? Purely academic, of course.

It does not do the same thing as a chip really.

It's just a trick where you put a magnet on the pedal and the sensor outside of the frame so it's able to detect the magnet, disregarding the OG one on the wheel. Rpm of the pedal are lower than the rear wheel = the bike think it's going below 25km/h = motor assistance over the restricted (real) speed.

It only works on some ebikes & the speed reading is then 100% inaccurate.

With most modern tuning you'll have an accurate reading, and the ability to turn the de-restriction on&off with a code, while riding.
