EC-E6000 battery charger connector

My EC-E6000 charger barely stays in the E8010 external mount battery socket when I charge now, takes a few pushes to make it stay and keep charging and hope it stays there. Charger is only a year old and have always treated it gently. I don't have another one to see if it is the charger plug or the battery socket at fault and both are very expensive to just try.

Anyone else had similar issues and any clever workarounds? (I was thinking of tape or silicone to give it some extra girth or something ...ooer matron) but open to suggestions from other ingenious forum users

check the dirt inside the battery and also on charger connector. have a closer look to them, for plastic damages or anything weird...
