Just fitted E7000 control switches to my 900e.
They certainly free up some space on my bars. The reverb dropper button now fits under the bar nicely out of harms way.
The controls are great to use and very easy to install.??

Couldn't agree more - have you got DI2 with the E7000 gear controller fitted too?

It comes in 3 options, which relate to the length of the cable, 300,400 or 700mm. 400mm is the "standard" length that bikes fitted with the switch out the factory tend to have.

There are several on line retailers selling them, mainly the big German on line shops, e.g:

Shimano STePS SW-E7000-L Switch - left

The part number is

Shimano STEPS SW-E7000-L

Thanks for the information and link R120. Will probably get one for my Spectral:ON when it arrives, I like the cleaner less cluttered look.

Yes, Di2 as well.
Purchased from Bike24, I think they are already out of the 300mm which I needed.
Oops, just checked. They have more in stock.

I just bought and installed the 7000 switch with the 400mm cable.
If you have a Merida (like I do) with routing of the electric wire through the handlebar this is too short :(

The cable goes to the left under the grip where the hole in the bar is, so you'll need the 700mm version if you want to keep the internal routing. Since the exit hole is in the middle of the bar it's no use to move the display to the left of the stem.
Apart from this issue it's plug and play.

I'm thinking if I'm going to buy the 700mm version or if I leave it as it is now...

I also switched dropper post from 120mm Merida to 150mm OneUp. This needs a lever with cable clamp option (this one is a Bontrager) and I needed a bit more outer cable length, hence the extra adjuster. Saved me removing the motor to work on the internal dropper cable :)

Another option to create a longer cable is to use a EW-JC200 Junction and a EW-SD50 Cable (different lengths) to extend your current one. You could probably hide the junction inside the handlebar?

I seem to have lots of cables now from playing around with different setups :)

Hi has anybody used the 300mm cable version with 780mm bars? Is it possible or not enough cable to get everything set out nicely

It would depend on your grips and where you position the control - the cable would run tight to the bars.

The 400mm allows you to run the cable a bit neater/bundle it with other cables

So whose done the upgrade. No one in AUS seems to have stock and the overseas shops won't ship here. I really need to swap my dropper lever to an under bar

Give Cyclery Studio a call in Sutherland Sydney, Mitch definitely has them. 02 9545 5404

Great mod, makes the bars so much cleaner. Takes 5 mins from start to finish.

Did you update the firmware, or just plug in and ready to go? I haven't updated my since I bought it in January 2019.

These switches don't handle crashes the best haha. Found that out the hard way. Need to get another one now.

I didn't notice at first when the bike was still on after the crash, but once we stopped for water and I turned it back on, went to put it in "trail" and the button was smashed to bits. Had to ride the last 6km using my human legs!

Just fiited a 7000-L switch to my bike after cracking the old switch after a trip over the handlebars, much better than the original IMHO.

The only downside is I ordered it back in mid September and it arrived on New Years Eve, I think Shimano need to make their E-Bike replacement parts more easliy available especially here in Australia.

Finally installed mine today. Just waiting on my replacement dropper lever, then it's Good bye over bar lever. Didn't realise just how small the switch is.

Anyway did anyone have to use these? I tried to use one of the rubber rings but the unit wouldn't slide into my bars so I just put the switch straight on. Have I missed something here?

Oh shit wait a sec are they meant to hold the cable in place instead of zip ties? Just had a light bulb moment
